How to Deal With Teething
Many parents find themselves helpless in front of the period when the teeth grow. You do see your child aching and with a flushed cheek and as any parent you want to take the pain away. You need not to panic as this pain is somewhat normal. It is caused by the fact that the jaw is developing and the teeth are struggling to pop up. These two movements may cause a friction that translates in pain
But teething does not have to be a horrible period. The relationship between you and your baby will be more of trust and love as you really try to make him feel better. You can show signs of affection while rubbing gently his gums. If you do not know how to spot the new growing tooth, look on the gums to see a white patch, the head of the tooth, or just a simple swelling. Also comfort the baby by holding him in your arms. Love and affection can sometimes do more than medicine.
If your paediatrician has recommended you a gel you should use it. Apply every twenty minutes as often as needed straight on the gum. Having a strong anaesthetic effect it will relieve the pain and the baby will feel fine for a longer period of time. Luckily as soon as the tooth is up and going the pain will cease naturally.
